Guest Artists

Known internationally as soloists, chamber musicians,
recitalists and fashionistas NADINA MACKIE JACKSON
and GUY FEW celebrate a passionate musical friendship. In
the six years that they have been performing together, four
new solo concerti, three double concerti, one triple concerto
and one symphony have been written for them. Since 2005,
Nadina and Guy have performed in Canada and the United
States as concerto soloists, a multi-instrumental recital duo
and recording artists. They recently released their third CD,
After Hours, a collection of their favourite music for trumpet,
corno, bassoon and piano.

Canada’s premier percussionist BEVERLEY JOHNSTON
is internationally recognized for her virtuosic and dynamic
performances on a wide range of percussion instruments.
Her exciting performances have been distinguished as
unconventional, effectively combining classical transcriptions,
contemporary music, and a touch of theatre; she is also a
leader in commissioning and premiering new works for
percussion. Her performances and recordings have been
broadcast on radio networks all over the world; her five solo
CDs are Ming (2009, Centrediscs); Garden of Delights (2004,
independent release); Alternate Currents (1992, Centrediscs);
Marimbach (1989, CBC Records Musica Viva); and Impact
(1986, Centrediscs, JUNO nominee). She can also be heard as
soloist or chamber musician on numerous other recordings.

As a soloist, chamber musician, curator, and publisher,
percussionist DAVID SCHOTZKO is a passionate advocate
for contemporary music.A founding member of the acclaimed
International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE), David has
premiered over 300 works by composers from across the globe,
working closely with both the established composers of today.

Recently relocated to Toronto, David has already become an
active performer in Canada, performing with the Canadian
Opera Company, the Esprit Orchestra, Arraymusic, Toca Loca,
Nexus, TorQ Percussion, Evergreen Club Contemporary
Gamelan, New Music Concerts, and at Ottawa Chamberfest.

Critically acclaimed Canadian percussionist RYAN SCOTT
has been hailed as:“‘Fierce and delicate ... a chameleon-like
virtuoso who triumphs over the varied colouristic demands
and technical challenges” (Gramophone). As a marimba and
multi-percussion soloist he is in constant demand, performing
extensively in Europe, Japan, North America and the UK.

He has appeared as guest soloist with the Esprit Orchestra,
the National Arts Centre Orchestra, the Hyogo Performing
Arts Centre Orchestra, the Austin Symphony, the Syracuse
Symphony Orchestra, the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra,
and Amici Strings.
